WELCOME TO ETBT: INTRODUCTION

OMG I need to lose 3 kgs before my sister’s wedding this weekend. I’m gonna go on that cabbage soup diet for a week.”

“That chocolate mud cake looks SO good and it’s calling out for me but I can’t cos I’m on a diet.”

“I just had a Golden Gaytime* – I’m going to get so fat. Shit.”

These monologues sound familiar? I’m pretty sure majority of you have gone through such phases in your life. The girls want Miranda Kerr’s abs, Kim Kardashian’s ass, Blake Lively’s legs; the guys want ___________.

Instead of “wanting” to look like a certain celebrity and going through all different fad diets and hit the gym 5 days a week because you know, you need to – why not embrace your body and start treating it with TLC.

I work out because I love my body, not because I hate it.

It shouldn’t be

Getting fit and be healthy can be quite a challenge, especially with personal and work commitments. I mean lets be real here, it’s always easier to heat up the frozen pies or pizza than to spend more than 2 hours to prep, cook and wash up. Also, how often do we use “I am too knackered from work/uni/school/<insert whatever commitment we have> to hit the gym” as an excuse? Way. Too. Often.
Many of us fail to understand that healthy and fit living is a journey, not a destination. A long journey too, may I add. Unless you’re EXTREMELY disciplied, it’s almost impossible to have a 180degrees change to your lifestyle overnight. And even if you did, it’s probably not sustainable in a long run.

THERE’S NO FINISH LINE SO ENJOY THE JOURNEY

Instead of trying to go cold turkey on all the “bad food” and start hitting the gym 7 days a week, why not begin your journey by making little changes to your everyday life. Any conscious healthy decision you made today brings you a step closer to a healthier and fitter you!

EVERY ACCOMPLISHMENT STARTS WITH THE DECISION TO TRY.

So, start making small changes to your daily life and before you know it – you are healthier and fitter! You don’t have to give up your favourite chocolate or Chardonay (although I personally prefer Sav Blanc). Moderation is the key – I’m not asking you to cut them out of your life forever! I still like to enjoy my wine o’clock thank you very much!
It would have been a much easier journey if you know that there are people out there who are in the similar shoes as you are. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get motivated and inspired by each other by sharing your “healthy deed” on this space! It could be adding more greens into your daily meal or swapping lemonade for sparking water or even your newly invented tasty and healthy recipes! You will be surprised at what little changes can do to you and you might inspire others to do the same too! :)

SMALL CHANGES CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE!

Just because the scale ain’t dropping doesn’t mean you aren’t progressing.
